In Search of the Great Pumpkin

This weekend we had alot of fun. We made Halloween cookies, rode our bike in the wonderful fall weather, and we went to the Grand Ole Pumpkin Patch in Clanton. We took Sam Sunday after church. We stopped and got some chicken and had a picnic in the park. Sam had so much fun collecting sticks and falling leaves at Goose Pond Park in Clanton. We then went to the Pumpkin Patch and we rode the Twactor Twain, petted the farm animals, ate Cotton Candy, watched the helicopter take off and land a hundred times (Nick wanted to take him on a ride but I convinced him to at least wait until Sam is 3). Sam loves airplanes and helicopters and he was so fascinated with the helicopter! We then rode the covered wagon to the pumpkin patch in search of Sam's first pumpkin. We searched for about 10 minutes until we found a good round one. Of course, we were the only ones in the patch pouring water and cleaning our pumpkin with napkins (those of you who know Nick understand)!! One of the pictures above show Sam and Nick cleaning it. One of the pictures above also shows off Sam's uncanny talent of stacking and balancing. While we were getting ready for church this morning Sam was getting our shoes out of the closest and stacking them in a very symmetric fashion... notice how he puts his at the beginning and at the end! He did all of this by himself and we were astounished when we discovered this. He does this frequently with all kinds of objects... cans, blocks, food, etc.. the boy has talent!! The other picture that has nothing to do with pumpkins is the picture of Sam with his spider man helmet!! Thank goodness he loves to wear it and he needs it while riding his bicycle... he is always trying new stunts and takes lots of tumbles while turning around too fast! The helmet came with knee and elbow pads. Sometimes I think he should wear all it even when he is not riding his bike!!
